Our Engineered Polymers’ innovations improve the performance, aesthetics and durability of our customers’ products across a wide range of consumer and industrial applications, including sustainable materials for performance apparel and footwear, consumer electronics, surface protection, wire and cable, 3D printing, and a range of industrial specialties.

Our sustainable solutions portfolio is based on three existing pillars, watch our new video to find out more details about the following:

  • Bio TPU™ with bio-based content ranging approximately from 30 to 70% certified according to ASTM D6866, commercialized as ESTANE® ECO TPU (for extrusion, molding and over molding processes), and Pearlbond™ ECO (for HMPUR formulations and hot melt adhesives).
  • ESTANE® PIR TPU based on post industrial recycled material formulated to be used in high performing applications.
  • ESTANE® RNW TPU with the same performance as our ESTANE TPU products but with bio carbon attribution.

Bio TPU

Design Responsibly with Bio TPU™

Bio TPU™ is our bio-based, renewable-sourced thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) portfolio which can be used in adhesives, and processed by injection molding, extrusion and co-extrusion. Bio TPU was invented in 2007 by Merquinsa which was later acquired by Lubrizol, and is commercialized as ESTANE® and Pearlbond™ ECO. The ESTANE ECO portfolio has been expanded and our most recent developments include a color stable grade. ESTANE ECO improves the performance of petroleum-based grades.
