Wickliffe

The Wickliffe facility is the world headquarters of The Lubrizol Corporation. The overall site occupies 90 acres of land and consists of two separate campuses. The east campus houses the corporate services offices of the world headquarters. The west campus contains the technical center, which is dedicated to research and development (R&D) and testing. Activities center on designing, developing and testing technology to meet new and anticipated industry performance requirements for lubricants and fuel additives as well as fundamental R&D for next generation specialty chemicals aligned with our businesses.

Health and Safety

Our Wickliffe facility adheres to all local, state and federal regulations for environmental, health, safety and security compliance. In an effort to continuously improve and establish industry best practices, the Wickliffe facility has received certification in the Responsible Care Management System® through the American Chemistry Council as well as Star Site certification from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s Voluntary Protection Program.

Community Relations

Lubrizol is committed to being a good corporate citizen in all of the communities where we live and work. Continuous improvement of our health, safety, environmental and security performance is a top priority. It’s all part of being an essential corporate citizen. Lubrizol employees ae encouraged to work with local groups, associations and committees for the betterment of their communities. Some local examples include:

• Hosting a Community Advisory Panel to regularly discuss plant activities and issues with the community
• Tutoring by employees at local elementary schools through the Ohio Reads program
• Participating in Building Bonds, Christmas in April, United Way Day of Caring and the Cleveland Food Bank
• Holding regularly scheduled blood drives on site with the American Red Cross

Interesting Facts

• The Wickliffe site has an impressive recycling program with more than 20 items recycled amounting to ~800 tons or about 70% of our solid waste annually.
• The Wickliffe site received awards for energy efficiency improvements from the American Chemistry Council and an Award for Excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety and Security from the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council.
