CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Lubrizol Foundation is proud to announce the release of its 2019 Annual Foundation Report, highlighting community grants and donations totaling $3.9 million, including more than $800,000 from the Foundation’s employee matching gift program.

Since 1952, the Lubrizol Foundation has donated over $91 million to organizations that align with Lubrizol’s community engagement priorities: good health and wellbeing, quality education and environmental stewardship. “The Lubrizol Foundation has a long history of proudly supporting deserving organizations in our local communities. ” said Elizabeth Grove, President, The Lubrizol Foundation.

During its nearly 70 year history, the Foundation has:

• Donated over $1.5 million to Breakthrough Schools, a public charter school, to buy and maintain a school building.
• Granted over $4 million in college scholarships in the last 10 years.
• Prioritized equity in education by pledging $1 million to Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s “Say Yes” to Education and by funding $800,000 in college scholarships specifically for women and minorities.
• Supported families with over $300,000 to University Hospitals’ Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital to locate healthcare services closer to inner city families and to provide for the educational needs of kids while in the hospital.
• Removed employment barriers with more than $125,000 donated to Vocational Guidance Services.
• Cared for the environment and the natural world with over $650,000 in grants to environmental organizations, parks and zoos.

“Recently, the Foundation set a new goal of assisting 2,028,000 individuals globally by 2028 through corporate philanthropy and support for employee volunteering. Through Lubrizol’s community engagement strategy, Global Goals/Local Actions, we will expand our geographic reach for giving and add more diverse voices and perspectives into our grant making in the years ahead to help the world live better,” Grove said.
