Lubrizol Surpasses 2020 Volunteering Goal with Global Day of Service

September 24, 2020

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Lubrizol is proud to announced it has surpassed its goal of contributing 2,020 virtual volunteering hours to deserving organizations in the communities it calls home. The company announced the goal at the early onset of COVID-19 as a way to ensure continued community support during this time of need.

The organization reached this milestone goal following its recent annual day of service, which it extended as a day of service from employees in its U.S. headquarters location in Cleveland, Ohio, to a day of volunteering by employees across the globe.

On a single day, employees in the U.S., England, Germany, Singapore, Spain, South Africa, and UAE contributed over 700 volunteer hours. These efforts included sewing face masks, making “Linus Blankets,” and participating in the Red Cross’ Missing Maps project, which empowers volunteers to map areas where humanitarian organizations are working, among other efforts.

“Through Lubrizol’s community engagement strategy, Global Goals/Local Actions, our global day of service is one example of how we are expanding our geographic reach in the years ahead to help the world live better,” Elizabeth Grove, Chief Sustainability Officer and President, Lubrizol Foundation said. “During this unprecedented time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lubrizol employees have demonstrated our cultural beliefs by being ‘All In’ to help others, and I couldn’t be prouder.”

To help the world live better, Lubrizol recently set a new goal of assisting 2,028,000 individuals globally by 2028, the company’s centennial, through corporate philanthropy and employee engagement.

Since 1952, the Lubrizol Foundation has donated over $91 million to organizations that align with Lubrizol’s community engagement priorities.
