Jakarta, Indonesia – APP Group and Lubrizol announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore potential collaboration in the development of sustainable paper and packaging solutions.

This partnership will combine APP’s extensive experience in paper and packaging manufacturing with Lubrizol’s expertise in specialty chemicals to advance innovations in water-based and bio-based coating technologies, while promoting regulatory advocacy for more sustainable materials across industries.

Under the terms of this agreement, APP and Lubrizol will establish a joint working team to identify and evaluate areas of collaboration within the scope of sustainable coatings, barrier technologies, and functional paper packaging applications. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to responsible innovation, circular economy, and environmental stewardship.

As part of this collaboration, APP is proud to highlight Foopak Bio Natura as its flagship sustainable paperboard brand for food and beverage packaging. Foopak Bio Natura is a trusted paperboard solution and compliant with international regulations including those in Europe, USA, Asia, and other key markets. Foopak Bio Natura utilizes proprietary aqueous dispersion (bio water-based) coating technology that replaces traditional plastic linings. Through this collaboration, APP is eager to explore further innovations and technologies that can enhance sustainable packaging solutions and deliver greater value to customers worldwide.
