Application - Micronized Waxes

Micronized Wax Technology

The spot where a paint, coating or ink meets the outside world is a critical point of contact. Here, performance characteristics, such as surface appearance, slip, abrasion resistance, feel and durability, are vital. This is where Lanco™, Lanco Matt, PowderAdd™, Carbocure™ and Pinnacle™ micronized waxes excel.

Micronized wax products are successfully used today in many industries, such as paints, coatings, plastics, inks and adhesives. They enhance the surface properties and aesthetics of a protective finish. Lubrizol's micronized waxes are recognized as advanced surface protection additives for industrial coatings.

Over the last 40 years, we developed a broad portfolio of micronized wax technologies using polyethylene, polypropylene, polyamide, and PTFE combined with unique grinding and classification technologies to meet specific demands. The desired performance characteristics for a particular application (for example - UV, can, coil, powder, wood, architectural, adhesives or masonry) are dependent on the composition of the additive, the type of formulation the additive is used in, the cure parameters, the thickness of the protective layer, and overall particle size distribution of the micronized wax.

Lubrizol offers more than just high-performance products. With production and technical facilities worldwide, we are well-equipped to serve customers on a global basis. Moreover, customers benefit from our focus on quality, innovation, technical support and customer service that is critical in the industry.
