Lubrizol is a recognized leader in chemistry for metal coating protection. We offer a broad portfolio of resins and performance additives for high-performance and industrial finishes, from the pretreatment to refinish stages of the product life cycle. 

Lubrizol corrosion inhibitor technologies are designed to protect ferrous metal, zinc alloy and aluminum substrates. Performance additives are available for both water-borne and solvent-borne systems. They are used as components in direct-to-metal coatings, primers and wash primer formulations. Featured additives in this product line include: 

• Lubrizol® 2064 - an acid scavenging calcium sulfonate designed for use in oil-based and water-reducible rust-proofing applications
• Lubrizol® 2120 - a nitrate-free flash rust inhibitor for water-borne coatings
• Lubrizol® 219 - an organo phosphate zinc complex that provides thin film corrosion protection for solvent-borne coatings

Corrosion protection can often be optimized by improving adhesion. Lubrizol's polymeric phosphate ester adhesion promoters are particularly effective in solvent-borne or water-borne direct-to-metal coatings.
