Carbopol^® 940 NF polymer is a highly efficient thickener and it is ideal for formulating clear aqueous and hydroalcoholic gels. The polymer has short flow, buttery rheology similar to mayonnaise.

Lubrizol’s benzene polymerized polymers do not meet the European Pharmacopeial “Carbomers” monograph because the residual benzene levels exceed the 2 ppm limit stipulated in the monograph.
