Carbopol^® 941 NF polymer can be used to produce low viscosity lotions and gels with good clarity. Additionally, it can provide emulsion stabilization of lotions and is effective in moderately ionic systems. The polymer has long flow rheology similar to honey.

Carbopol^® 941 NF polymer is more efficient than Carbopol^® 934 NF, Carbopol^® 5984 EP, Carbopol^® 940 NF and Carbopol^® 980 NF polymers at concentrations below 0.1 wt.% in aqueous systems and below 1.5 wt.% in solvent systems.

Lubrizol’s benzene polymerized polymers do not meet the European Pharmacopeial “Carbomers” monograph because the residual benzene levels exceed the 2 ppm limit stipulated in the monograph.
