Stephen F. Kirk is senior vice president and chief operating officer of The Lubrizol Corporation. Mr. Kirk joined Lubrizol in 1972. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles in process engineering, sales and sales management. Mr. Kirk has also worked at several company facilities, including European headquarters in London, England. In December 1993, Mr. Kirk was elected vice president of the corporation, and in April 2004, he was elected senior vice president and appointed president of Lubrizol Additives. In September 2008, Mr. Kirk was elected chief operating officer for the corporation.
He received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Cleveland State University. Mr. Kirk was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Business from Cleveland State University in 2007. He is also on the board of directors at the National Petrochemical and Refiners Association and is past chairman of the American Chemistry Council Petroleum Additives Panel. He serves on the board of directors of Robbins and Myers (NYSE). He is a director of Vocational Guidance Service and is chairman of the Visiting Board for the Nance College of Business Administration at Cleveland State University.
