Liquid Polymers

Tackifiers

Lubrizol® 5907A is a tackifier agent used to formulate greases with superior adhesion and anti-drip characteristics.

Lubrizol® 4305FG is a mixture of high molecular weight oil soluble polymers designed to provide effective tackiness to food grade greases formulated from white oils. It is NSF HX-1 registered.

Lubrizol® 4306FG is a food grade tackifier designed to provide tackiness or stringiness to vegetable oil based greases. It is NSF HX-1 registered.

Polyisobutylene (PIB)

Lubrizol is a major producer of polyisobutylene. For grease applications, these polymers are used as alternatives to heavy naphthenic and bright stock oils to provide increased viscosity with improved oxidative stability and low-temperature performance. PIBs provide:

  • Excellent moisture and oxygen barrier
  • Adhesive qualities and tackiness down to -50°C
  • The ability to formulate H-1 incidental contact lubricants and greases
