Hand Care

Lubrizol provides Carbopol^® polymers that can be used to formulate high performance hand sanitizing gels, waterless hand cleaners and hand soaps for consumer and institutional systems. 

Carbopol polymers are compatible with alcohol and other non-aqueous ingredients.  They can thicken ethanol, isopropanol at 90 wt% use level yielding systems with good clarity and shear thinning rheology. This performance function allows the formulation of hand disinfecting products which are used when soap and water are not readily available.  The products can be formulated to deliver good performance with good after-feel on the hands while providing conditioning and moisturization.
