Estane® aliphatic and aromatic engineered polymers are available in polyester, polyether, and polycaprolactone grades to meet a variety of performance requirements for extruded film and sheet applications. It is used in a wide range of thicknesses from 0.5-mil film to 50-mil sheet. Polyester-based engineered polymers exhibit excellent oil, fuel, and solvent resistance, high temperature performance, as well as good UV and hydrolytic stability. Polyether-based engineered polymers exhibit excellent low-temperature properties, hydrolysis, and fungus resistance. Key end-use markets include:

Estane Engineered Polymers offer a wide range of resins for making state-of-the-art conveyor belts. Polyesters, polyethers, polycaprolactone and other specialties enable belt manufactures to meet very stringent specifications.
Our engineered polymers are engineered to be exceptionally tough. Engineered polymers made from Estane provide high tensile strength and elongation properties relative to other elastomers, while delivering superior resistance to punctures and tears.
Estane Engineered Polymers meet the most severe requirements such as UV stability and resistance to industrial fluids like Oil, hydraulic fluids and lubricants.
Textiles with Estane Engineered Polymers are being used as high quality materials in a wide range of applications that require toughness and abrasion resistance.
Our resins offer unique opportunities for fabric coating products. Topcoats prepared from Estane's solution resins and/or compounds exhibit excellent properties that can be obtained by either direct or transfer coating.
Estane Engineered Polymers technology is unique because in film or coated form, it becomes a monolithic barrier to keep water out but still allows moisture vapor to move freely through activated diffusion.
Applications associated with a need for better moisture vapor transmission but maintaining a water/liquid barrier is becoming more prevalent. Estane's High Moisture Vapor Transmission (HMVT) resins can provide the right mix of controller HMVT and barrier along with good weathering properties and fungus resistance.
In apparel applications the need for performance must be balanced with comfort for the wearer. Estane's HMVT resin properties combine a tough breathable barrier with a quiet and soft hand, stretch for comfort of movement and good low temperature flexibility for those extreme conditions outerwear can see.
