Estane® Engineered Polymers

Blow Molding

Blow molding is often considered over standard injection molding when a hollow-shaped part is required. Extrusion blow molding consists of extruding a hollow tube of molten plastic commonly referred to as a parison. The parison is then clamped between two mold halves and expanded into the desired shape by inflating it with compressed air. After cooling, a hollow part emerges. Injection blow molding is a more exacting process which takes a pre-made pre-form and stretches it over a core rod to typically make a cylindrical container.

Estane® Engineered Polymer products are unique in design and performance, not only in delivering desired high durability in finished parts, but in versatility in processing as well. They exhibit excellent melt strength, dimensional stability, good elasticity, high tear strength, and optimized crystallinity for quick cycles.
