Community Engagement

Five Years of Building Bonds

Lubrizol is committed to ethical behavior, economic and environmental sustainability and the welfare of our employees and the communities in which we operate. We are committed to honesty and integrity in all that we do.

Active community support began with our founders. We continue their work by providing dollars, materials and people to various educational, cultural and charitable organizations. This includes many charitable outreach efforts where employees apply their individual skills as they assist local organizations.

Employee Commitment

Every day our employees prove that they care about their surrounding communities by freely giving their time and expertise. Recent Lubrizol community projects include:

Building Bonds 2013

Building Bonds – Northeast Ohio, US

More than 400 employees from Lubrizol’s northeast Ohio locations (Avon Lake, Brecksville, Painesville and Wickliffe) participate in a day of community service strengthening bonds between both employees and the community.

Blooming Milford – Hazelwood, UK

Blooming Milford is a group of garden enthusiasts with the mission to make Milford a better place through volunteer gardening projects. They planted flowers, herbs and fruit trees that the community can pick and take home to enjoy.

Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity – Texas, US

Active Organics® (a Lubrizol company) employees volunteered 80 hours of service with Habitat for Humanity® of Denton County, Texas. They painted, poured cement, installed hardware and fixtures, caulked, etc. working hard to make a home for a deserving family in the community.

Keeping Villagers Dry

Keeping Villagers Dry – Mumbai, India

During the rainy season in India the roofs on villagers’ shanties do not provide enough protection from the heavy continuous rain. Lubrizol provided tarpaulins to help keep the villagers dry. We also provided clothing and stationery goods donated by our employees.

Community Enjoys STEM in the Park - Bowling Green, OH

STEM, an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, is a word often associated with events designed to excite and educate children, in particular underserved children, and their teachers, about these topics. Bowling Green State University hosted STEM in the Park. Lubrizol’s employees volunteered their labor, and The Lubrizol Foundation was one of four major sponsors.

Lubrizol’s United Way campaign raised more than $1 million for third consecutive year
