Inherently Static Dissipative Alloys
Lubrizol Conductive Polymers pioneered the development of inherently static dissipative alloys with the introduction of Stat-Rite® IDP polymers in the late 1980’s. Stat-Rite IDP alloys provide permanent and effective dissipation of electrostatic charges without the use of conductive particulate fillers making them ideal for cleanroom and other manufacturing environments where outgassing, ionic contaminants and low particle generation are critical.
Since the development of the original Stat-Rite IDP materials, Lubrizol Conductive Polymers has continued to focus our product development on improving the dissipative performance and cleanliness properties of our Stat-Rite compounds with multiple new generations of IDP base resins. Lubrizol Conductive Polymers is the only vertically integrated supplier of inherently static dissipative alloy products. Polymerizing the IDP resin internally allows us to continue the development of new IDP resins that are more effective on either an ESD (electrostatic dissipative) or outgassing and ionic contaminant cleanliness performance basis.
When these new generations of the Stat-Rite IDP resin are alloyed with carefully chosen base resins, the resultant compounds are able to deliver ESD protection for ESD Class 0 device packaging (the most stringent of ESD packaging requirements) with extremely low outgassing and ionic contaminants. There are other Stat-Rite IDP alloys that are developed with equally high ESD performance but with more cost effective base resins when contamination requirements are not as stringent.
Lubrizol Conductive Polymers pioneered materials that meet the most stringent cleanliness and electrical requirements
Stat-Rite Inherently Dissipative Polymers (IDP) alloys set the new standard for test and design engineers requiring permanent static dissipation without compromising cleanliness. Unlike conventional technologies, such as conductive fillers and chemical anti-stats, Stat-Rite IDP Alloys blend a proprietary, inherently dissipative polymer with a variety of base polymers. This produces polymer alloys with an inherent static dissipative polymer inter penetrating network that remains intact through thermoforming, injection molding or extruding while maintaining the physical properties of the base polymer. Stat-Rite IDP Alloys are ultra clean with low ionic and organic outgassing constituents meeting the most stringent cleanliness requirements. With its clean and non-black appearance, the alloys can also be colored with low loading of pigmentation offering you the appearance flexiblity and options without affected other properties.
As one of the world leaders in ESD protection, more than anything, we provide the peace of mind - not only with products that consistently meet the highest quality standards, but also with the industry's largest network of technical support specialists. When reliability, value and safety matter most, there is no better solution that one offered from Lubrizol Conductive Polymers.
