FBC™ System Compatible Program Provides Peace of Mind on the Jobsite
One-of-a-Kind Testing Program Grows to Include More Than 100 Products
It was more than a decade ago that the building industry’s first chemical compatibility testing program was introduced. Today the FBC™ System Compatible Program remains the industry’s only formal program designed to increase user confidence and help eliminate guesswork on the jobsite by testing and monitoring ancillary products that agree to enter the program to ensure chemical compatibility with FlowGuard Gold®, BlazeMaster® and Corzan® CPVC piping systems.

As evidence of the building industry’s need for and interest in this type of testing, the FBC System Compatible Program continues to grow, regularly adding new products to its proven-compatible list. Today the program consists of more than 100 products, including antimicrobial coatings for steel pipe, thread sealants, leak detectors, firestops, etc. Installers, building owners, code officials and other product manufacturers regularly rely on the program as a guide for confidently choosing products commonly used on the jobsite.
All products on the list have been submitted by their manufacturers and have qualified for the program by undergoing rigorous testing which assures the product will not fail as a result of chemical incompatibility. Manufacturers of the products commit to maintain the necessary quality and not to change the chemical composition of the products. Since CPVC products are made with base resins having different molecular weights and varying chlorine contents and compound additives, the FBC System Compatible Program only verifies chemical compatibility with FlowGuard Gold®, BlazeMaster® and Corzan CPVC® pipe/fit products.
Products in the program display the FBC System Compatible mark on their labels, so that installers know, at a glance, that the product has been proven chemically compatible. Only manufacturers that have passed these specific chemical compatibility tests are able to place the FBC compatible mark on their product labels.
The program is in active use in the United States, Canada, Mexico, 25 European countries, the United Arab Emirates, India and China.
