Lubrizol CPVC Piping Systems and Materials iPad App: Advanced Tools for the Digital Age

The Lubrizol Corporation is proud to announce the launch of an innovative new application for the Apple® iPad®. The Lubrizol CPVC app, which will make its formal debut at the 2013 International Builders’ Show, features a collection of digital tools to inform users about Lubrizol CPVC products and assist with finding and implementing the right solutions for building and construction projects.
The app, which users can download at no cost, will serve as a source for news about Lubrizol CPVC brands, including FlowGuard® Pipe & Fittings, BlazeMaster® Fire Sprinkler Systems and Corzan® Industrial Systems. The app will also include a FBC™ System Compatible product finder—a tool that helps ensure compliance with industry standards and compatibility with products from other companies.
Lubrizol developed—and continues to develop—the app with users’ needs in mind. The app serves as a portal for locating and contacting regional manufacturers and other key stakeholders, and gives users the opportunity to sign up for e-news and link to social media.
The capabilities of the Lubrizol CPVC app are particularly useful at tradeshows. The app provides up-to-the-minute information about events, key speakers and booth topics to help users organize their time and prioritize the wealth of activities and information that tradeshows offer.
“We’re excited about having a new way to reach out to our customers,” said Marty Musgrave, national sales manager for the TempRite® Engineered Polymers North America region. “The app will be a great resource for information about Lubrizol CPVC plumbing systems.”
The new iPad app also provides tangible benefits to Lubrizol field representatives. “Having a one-stop place to access information is a huge plus,” said Musgrave. “The app equips our reps with useful tools, and the net result is greater efficiency in serving our customers.”
Reflecting on the app’s capabilities, Dan Himmelman, Lubrizol manager of customer processes and mobility and messaging services, said, “No longer is collecting and using information from the field a multi-step process. The iPad app allows users to capture data and act upon it directly.”
Himmelman also praised the advantages of having access to tools on the go and at the jobsite: “The best and most useful tools should not be stuck on somebody’s desk or desktop. The iPad gives users access to the tools they need anywhere, at any time.”
Lubrizol will continue to develop the app by focusing on the needs of its users. Himmelman and his technology team expect that more tools to assist contractors and plumbing engineers with their piping projects will become available as the app’s capabilities expand.
The release of the new iPad app is a natural extension of Lubrizol’s More Inside™ promise.
“Lubrizol continues to remove barriers and technical obstacles,” said Himmelman. “This iPad app should be a major indication that Lubrizol ‘gets it’. Not only is Lubrizol an innovator when it comes to their products, but the innovation also includes Lubrizol’s technological offerings and advancements in how we provide service and support.”
The Lubrizol CPVC iPad app will be available for download via the App Store in January 2013. A version of the app for use on additional tablet devices is under development and will be released later in 2013.
