Introducing FlowGuard® Bendable Multilayer Piping, a new plumbing solution made using specially formulated CPVC compounds and manufacturing technology from The Lubrizol Corporation. The pipe exhibits exceptional flexibility and rigidity by combining the performance benefits of CPVC with the strength and durability of metal to offer the ultimate piping system.

Constructed of multiple layers of CPVC bonded with laser butt-welded aluminum, FlowGuard Bendable piping can conform to the application, resulting in reduced installation time, lower installed costs and superior life-cycle costs. The construction also provides protection against failures due to corrosion, and like the other Lubrizol CPVC piping materials, FlowGuard Bendable piping does not experience the effects of oxidative degradation by common water disinfectants. To complete the system, a reliable solvent cement joining system is used to connect the pipes and achieve a pressure rating of 400 psi at 73°F and 100 psi at 180°F.

FlowGuard Bendable Multilayer Piping is the first, and to date, the only product to meet the requirements of ASTM standard F2855. The new standard reflects the construction of FlowGuard Bendable Multilayer Piping exactly, specifying chlorinated polyvinyl chloride/aluminum/chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC-AL-CPVC) composite pressure tubing with welded aluminum tube reinforcement between the inner and outer layers. In order to meet ASTM F2855, FlowGuard Bendable Multilayer Piping became the first piping system to pass all necessary testing relative to adhesion, hydrostatic burst strength and thermocycling.
