"I firmly believe we are doing our customers a favor when offeringthem FlowGuard Gold® pipeand fittings."Bill Lane, Sr.founder of Superior Plumbing
Providing safe, reliable and easy-to-install piping systems
The Lubrizol Corporation offers a number of attractive plumbing and fire sprinkler solutions that are ideally suited to meet the safety needs and budgets of assisted living and retirement communities. With a proven-safe 50+ year track record, our FlowGuard Gold®, BlazeMaster® and Corzan® piping systems have been successfully installed in a variety of long-term care facilities across the globe—for both retrofits and in new construction. And, our most recent introduction - Corzan® HP pipe and fittings - offers even more benefits. Corzan HP pipe has a 25% higher pressure rating than starndard CPVC at 180ºF (82ºC). In addition, Corzan HP fittings are pressure-rated to the same rating as the pipe to make the Corzan HP system the first and only fully pressure rated schedule 40/80 piping system on the market today.
Fire sprinkler retrofits, in particular, are becoming increasingly common in long-term care facilities as a result of new legislation that mandates all such facilities serving Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries to have comprehensive fire sprinkler systems by 2013. BlazeMaster CPVC fire sprinkler systems provide a cost-effective and safe solution for this type of retrofit construction because of their fast, easy, clean installation method which minimizes disruption to residents and helps to maintain higher occupancy rates. Some facilities, in fact, have realized a savings of up to 40 percent in total installed costs compared to what the retrofit would have cost with a metallic system.**
Since all of our systems (plumbing and fire sprinkler) resist corrosion, pitting and scaling, they offer a reliable, long-term performance, which creates additional cost savings and minimizes maintenance requirements. Without corrosion, there are no water quality or health concerns relative to copper contamination. And, superior antimicrobial performance, as documented by multiple international studies, helps keep residents healthy. Other safety considerations include the fact that our systems do not require a torch on the jobsite during installation (which minimizes the risk of fire), and they do not support a flame or contribute to flashover.
Quiet operation is another benefit, which means there is less noise to disrupt residents.
With more communities focusing on sustainability and LEED certification, we are happy to report that our piping systems are in full compliance with even the strictest green standards.
As the world leader in piping solutions, more than anything, we provide long-term care facilities with peace of mind—not only with piping products that consistently meet the highest quality standards, but also with the industry’s largest network of technical support specialists. When safety, reliability and value matter most, there is no better piping solution than one from Lubrizol.
